Farming Equipment and Technology Fund - help shape the next round
Following another successful round of the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund, which this year was split into the two themes ‘Productivity and Slurry’ and ‘Animal Health and Welfare’, farmers, suppliers, industry consultants and manufacturers are being invited to share their ideas for future rounds of the grant, specifically the Animal Health and Welfare theme.
The first round received a high level of interest from a range of sectors, with applicants benefitting from up to £25,000 worth of funding. As DEFRA evaluate how things went and look to the future, they are asking for feedback on the specifications for items eligible for funding and the sectors eligible for the items.
Each specification sets out the minimum criteria an item must satisfy in order to receive funding. For example, the mobile cattle handling system must include a race, a crush and a minimum of 10 gates to create pens. The crush must have an anti-backing facility and a locking head yoke and the gates must be of all metal construction.
If you think an aspect of the specifications should be changed, you are invited to fill out the survey.
In this round of the fund, some items were available across all sectors, where as others were only available to a specified sector.
If you think some of those items would be beneficial from farmers from other sectors, you are invited to fill out the survey.
The survey will be open until 7th August and can be filled out by clicking here.
